Known as one of Cape Cod‘s best spots to tee off, the community is home to several golf courses, with their three championship-level greens undoubtedly giving the community this great reputation. Some courses are open to the public, while others are situated within private clubs, with dining facilities, tennis courts, and other luxe amenities available.
 
Nature lovers can find solace in the town’s many lakes and ponds just minutes from some houses across Mashpee. Johns Pond offers free parking, boating, and fishing. The pond reaches depths of 70 feet and has unusually deep transparency of 18 feet. Wakeby Pond is deeper, less transparent, and nearly twice the size of Johns Pond. More than a dozen fish species call Wakeby Pond home; fishers should expect to pay a parking fee during the summer.
 
Mashpee Commons is one of Cape Cod’s most popular spots, in particular, home to many locally-owned boutiques, nationally recognized brands, cafes, coffee shops, Regal Cinemas, and more, remaining busy throughout the week. An acclaimed restaurant at Mashpee Commons is Siena, an Italian restaurant with a customized wine list, fire grill, and menu that resembles the comforts of Tuscany. Mashpee Commons is also a short drive from the Raw Bar in Popponesset, which offers some of the best lobster rolls anywhere.

High-end eateries serving exquisite European fare, oceanfront clubs, and some of New England’s best golf courses are located in Mashpee, making it one of Cape Cod’s most exclusive spots to spend the summer, spring, and all other months of the year.
 
A cup of Joe from Cape Cod Coffee is arguably the best way to start a day. Locals are fortunate to have three convenient locations within their immediate vicinity. While the coffee and breakfast dishes like the Cape Cod Benny and traditional breakfast plates have been popular selections since their opening in 1970, Cape Cod Coffee also offers casual meals, refreshing cocktails, and local craft beer at any time of the day.
 
Estia in Mashpee Commons offers a stylish take on a traditional Greek menu. Wood-fired pizzas, racks of lamb, Greek salads, and kebabs are savored in a smart dining room perfectly situated in the middle of town.
 
Another upscale yet inviting eatery is found at Bleu. Headed up by an executive chef and owner with European experience and several awards under his belt, Bleu brings the French bistro experience to life. Braised pork, duck confit, sea scallops, roast duck, and warm brie are a few of their traditional French-inspired pleasures guests have called “amazing,” “excellent,” and “very impressive.” 
 

Things to Do

Mashpee boasts a proud Native American heritage which is celebrated every July with the Annual Mashpee Wampanoag Powwow. A powwow, a traditional ceremony of dancing and feasting, is one of the most sacred happenings in the Native community. Younger residents can learn more about regional history at the Cape Cod Children’s Museum. Here, youngsters can play with interactive exhibits while learning about science, history, and more. The whole family can gain local knowledge by taking a kayak tour of Cape Cod on the Mashpee River. Along the river, several businesses rent out kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, bikes, and other sporting equipment, offering different forms of recreation to residents of all ages.
